Our fascination with books is not with their content only but also with the medium itself. The book’s simplicity, its portability and its ability to transmit thoughts over the span of centuries, make it a unique tool for disseminating knowledge and ideas of freedom.  Not surprisingly in every moment of darkness in the history of humankind, someone set out to destroy as many books as could be found.

Some of the books in this collection have not only witnessed the arrogance of mighty empires but also their demise, yet they have determinedly survived the ravages of time and reached us with their ideas.  The rare Antique Judaica books and manuscripts presented in this website are mostly of Jewish North African authors and publishers who continued to write and publish their work, long after they were expelled from Spain in 1492.
